Public safety isn’t an abstract issue for me...I’ve lived it.
Before becoming an attorney, I served as a police officer in one of the largest and most underfunded law enforcement agencies in the country. I’ve worked alongside officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect their communities, often with limited resources and little recognition.
I believe:
These are not competing ideas.
In fact, accountability strengthens public trust, and public trust makes law enforcement more effective. As your State Senator, I will support policies that keep our communities safe, provide law enforcement with the training and resources they need, and strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Safe communities are the foundation upon which everything else is built.
