Arizona’s future depends on water.
Without reliable water supplies, Arizona cannot continue to grow, prosper, and maintain the quality of life that makes our state special.
What frustrates me is that we’ve solved challenges like this before. In the 1960s and 1970s, two Arizona leaders, Barry Goldwater and Carl Hayden, put aside political differences and worked together to help make the Central Arizona Project a reality. They understood that Arizona’s future was more important than partisan politics. They were not focused on who got the credit. They were focused on getting the job done.
Today, Arizona faces serious water challenges, yet too many politicians
spend their time blaming one another.
Republicans blame Democrats.
Democrats
blame Republicans.
Meanwhile, the problem remains.
What Arizona needs today is the same Goldwater-Hayden mentality that
built the Central Arizona Project in the first place. We need leaders
willing to put Arizona ahead of politics and bring people together around
practical solutions. As an Independent, I’m uniquely positioned to help
build those coalitions. I don’t answer to party leadership.
I answer to the people of Arizona.
Water isn’t a Republican issue.
Water isn’t a Democratic issue.
Water is an Arizona issue.
I will work with Republicans, Democrats, water experts, farmers, tribal communities, municipalities, and business leaders to strengthen the Central Arizona Project, promote responsible conservation, protect Arizona’s long-term water supply, and preserve our state’s future for generations to come.
Protecting Arizona’s water isn’t about politics...It’s about preserving Arizona.
